KITS Welcomes New Youth Advocate Specialist Samuel “Joey” Alleyne

New Youth Advocate Specialist Brings Background in Global Youth Initiatives for Education and Career Development

Kids In The Spotlight (KITS) welcomes its newest staff member, Youth Advocate Specialist Samuel “Joey” Alleyne (he/him).

Joey has over 20 years of experience creating viable pathways in skills building, job training, and equipping youth for employment. He is the founder of Alleyne Connect U, a network focused on collective impact where advocacy and access for youth are the highest priority. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration and an MBA in Nonprofit Management.

In his hometown of Nassau, the Bahamas, Joey worked with the Bahamas government, clergy, and community stakeholders in early adulthood to facilitate national Peace against Violence campaigns. While working as a bridge-builder, he found a knack for partnership building, youth advocacy, and people operations.

Peace against Violence allowed youth in marginalized communities to display their talents through arts, ministry, and media. Additionally, the initiative created safe spaces for youth to develop road maps and achieve their personal and professional goals.

Joey expanded internationally as a bridge-builder over time, producing youth advocacy initiatives, creating systems to sustain the growth, and connecting youth with partner organizations for educational and career development.

Joey is excited about his new role at KITS. “It means a lot to me to help restore economic stability and generational wealth for Black and brown youth,” he says.
