KITS National Short Screenplay Competition - with FREE 5-week Screenwriting Course - is Back!
Updated: Mar 3, 2021
Calling all TAY foster youth, ages 18-22, this Competition is exclusively for YOU!!
We are empowering foster youth across the country to use their present to heal from their past and breathe hope into their future. ๐ฌ๐
Our inaugural KITS National Short Screenplay Competition was birthed as a creative pivot to the unprecedented times 2020 brought us. We were so thrilled to shine a spotlight on the conversation foster youth nationally wanted to have. And we knew this was an opportunity we'd have to bring back again, year after year! Just like last year's winning script Bully, the winning script will be turned into a short movie, produced by Kids In The Spotlight.
Please note: We are offering a FREE 5-week Virtual Screenwriting Course**, starting March 22nd, which will give you - TAY foster youth - the chance to learn how to take your story and turn it into a script you can submit to the Competition! You don't have to take the course; it is not a requirement for submission. We simply want to help give you all the tools we can in order for you to tell your best story possible!
Course Dates: March 22nd - April 23rd
[Mondays & Thursdays weekly, ending with a Virtual Table Read on Friday, April 23rd] Course Meeting Times via Zoom: 6:00pm -7:30pm [PST] **must have computer, tablet, or smart phone to participate
Register for the FREE 5-week Virtual Screenwriting Course at bit.ly/2021competition
The DEADLINE to sign up is Friday, March 19th, but don't wait because space is limited.
If you have foster youth you are connected to or serving in any capacity, please feel free to share this unique opportunity especially for them!
