KITS Films Screened Coast-to-Coast

Award-winning shorts "Saving De'Lenzi"and "Trapped Within" will be screened at the inaugural See it - End it! Human Trafficking Film and Arts Festival this Saturday, March 30. at 1pm. The historic Grand Theater in San Pedro, California is the site for this "two-day educational, preventative, and awareness building event" designed to heighten awareness about this widespread violation of human rights.



In addition to movies, there will be appearances Q&As with filmmakers, survivors, celebrities, panelists, and experts in the field, attendees will not merely watch, but rise to take practical action steps. Performances and visual arts include paintings, dance, music, spoken word, and more. Our own program director instructor Ryan Gibson will conduct a special screenwriting session with youth in attendance. Three more KITS shorts have been selected by the organizers of the Child Welfare Film Festival in Brooklyn on May 5, 2019. Produced by the Foster Care Film and Community Engagement Project (FCFCEP, the event which takes place during National Foster Care Month "takes an in-depth look at family separation, the factors that contribute to it, and the long lasting impact it can have. Each short film block will be followed by a filmmaker Q&A and advocate panel discussion. Panelists will include foster care alumni, social workers and foster parents."
