BREAKING NEWS: KITS Wins Big at Santa Fe Film Festival
Updated: Jan 14, 2021

This weekend, filmmakers and filmmakers alike descended upon The Land of Enchantment for the 2020 Santa Fe Film Festival where the 2019 KITS Awards Best Film winner "Burnt Feathers, Broken Wings" was screened. Kids in the Spotlight Executive Director, Tige Charity, and the film's director, actress Cady McClain were on hand to receive the festival's coveted Social Justice Award.
"Burnt Feathers, Broken Wings” holds the distinction of being the first documentary created by Kids in the Spotlight student filmmakers. The film was the lead-in presentation to the much anticipated “Foster Boy,” a highly charged drama produced by NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal and starring veteran actor, Matthew Modine and Shane Paul McGhie.

"We celebrate our youth for telling their stories, their way!" say Charity. "It’s more than a movie, it’s a movement!"
Kids in the Spotlight extends its deepest appreciation to the Santa Fe Film Festival for the opportunity and recogniztion, and to Cady McClain for being an amazing advocate for KITS!
